Kids rock to Johnson's beat

10 April 2012

They say it's based on the true story of a detention camp probation officer who got his otherwise hopeless juveniles to play American football and find self-respect.

But surely the facts are not quite as clichéd as this movie, which has action hero Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson doing his darnedest for the kids.

It's the sort of film you either go along with or run screaming from. Lively performances and decent production values may keep you in your seat, despite the film's inordinate length.
