Continental drifters

The lecherously inclined will be attracted to this meditation on student rebellion, art and money by its title (Regular Lovers) and the gorgeous French stars Clotilde Hesme and Louis Garrel. But they'll be bitterly disappointed - the titular lovers wear crisp white shirts in bed. Others may bemoan the director's obvious debt to Warhol and mid-career Godard.

The semi-autobiographical drama definitely has its ludicrous side and the recreations of the 1968 Paris riots are unconvincing. Still, the acting is superb and anyone who's been to college will recognise the all-but-feudal in-house politics.

A charismatic toff dispenses opium from his throne-like bed. And, unable to resist a free lunch, our bolshy youngsters are soon in danger of letting everything important drift away.
