Confucius isn't wise enough

Despite some spectacular imagery from Peter Pau (of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon fame), Confucius falls short of it's original purpose as a biopic

Confucius, he say all sorts of wise things.

The problem for Hu Mei’s spectacular biopic, shot by Peter Pau (who won an Oscar for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), is how to make a commercial movie out of what was a relatively quiet life. Chow Yun-fat plays the philosopher with dignified aplomb; otherwise, we rely on action as much as words, and never learn enough about the man.
