The Devil Wears Prada author is writing a new book based on Emily

To say we're excited would be a massive understatement

It's the role that launched Emily Blunt's career and now the character she played in The Devil Wears Prada is being put centre stage.

Lauren Weisberger, author of The Devil Wears Prada (which was adapted into the 2006 film of the same name), has just announced her new book: When Life Gives You Lululemons.

While The Devil Wears Prada centred around 'Runway' magazine editor Miranda Priestley and her highly-relatable second assistant Andy, it was her first assistant Emily who stole the show with her witty one-liners.

Weisberger's new novel will be an alternative sequel to The Devil Wears Prada (which already has a sequel centred around Andy) and it picks up a decade on from where The Devil Wears Prada left off.

Emily is now a celebrity image consultant who is forced to relocate to the suburbs of Connecticut for her new A-list client, Karolina Hartwell.

Karolina's public image has gone down the drain following a DUI so it's up to Emily to fix it.

Weisberger has released the cover image of the book, which depicts the silhouette of a woman with big sunglasses and an even bigger hat peeking over a white picket fence.

The first chapter of the book is currently available on Entertainment Weekly and includes references to Gigi Hadid and a popstar who promises to be the "new Bieber".

While the book won't be released until summer 2018, we can only hope we get some insight into Emily's sassy mind and that she reflects on her time at Runway with Andy and Miranda.
