Art Night, London’s largest free festival of contemporary art, is to return this summer for another nocturnal celebration of the capital’s creativity.

The all-night event will see work by 12 renowned artists transform spaces – galleries and otherwise – across London, running down the length of the river Thames.

After previously collaborating with the ICA and Whitechapel Gallery, this year's event will partner up with the recently reopened Hayward Gallery. The venue will host an giant outdoor video projection of a comfortably furnished living room exploding in slow motion.

Highlights from this year's line-up include Anthea Hamilton, who unveiled a new work at Tate this week, transforming Battersea Power Station with augmented reality, and Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller collaborating with Melodians Steel Orchestra for a performance.

Liv Wynter, who recently quit as artist-in-residence at Tate after claiming that the gallery is failing women, will present a live event at the recently reopened Garden Museum.

Elsewhere, an artwork will be suspended from a crane, a maze-like structure will appear in Vauxhall, and a multimedia installation will focus oon the first Syrian Cosmonaut in space.
