Just Eat chief jumps ship to run Moneysupermarket

Peter Duffy takes on the role

The chief executive of food delivery giant Just Eat is moving to run Moneysupermarket in what is starting to look like a revolving door of executives between the two companies.

Peter Duffy is joining Moneysupermarket to replace Mark Lewis who had previously announced he was leaving the business.

Oddly, Moneysupermarket's previous CEO, Peter Plumb, moved to run Just Eat three years ago, leaving in January 2019 after poor performance of the group. Duffy, who had been Just Eat's chief customer officer, replaced him.

Just Eat has been taken over by continental rival Takeaway.com in a move that pleased investors and finally got the Competition and Markets Authority's blessing last month.

Duffy had previously been chief commercial officer at easyJet and marketing director of Audi's UK arm.

Robin Freestone, chairman of Moneysupermarket, said he had been chosen after an "extensive search" and that Duffy had strengths in marketing and digital businesses.
