Mail order catalogue and online giant Shop Direct is launching an upmarket fashion and beauty website.

The site will sell “diffusion and second lines” from designers and has been created by Shop Direct director and former My Wardrobe founder Sarah Curran.

VeryExclusive.co.uk will sell luxury and beauty brands including Marc by Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen’s McQ, See by Chloe and Vivienne Westwood Anglomania.

But it will also sell high end high street names including Reiss as well as beauty brands like Laura Mercier and is aimed at women aged between 26 to 35.

Curran, who is now managing director of Very Exclusive, said: “There will also be a keen focus on accessible price points.” She said it will offer an account with credit at 18.9% APR which allows shoppers the “option to spread the cost”.

Gareth Jones, Shop Direct’s group retail and strategy director, said: “Very Exclusive offers the brands the opportunity to access a customer base that wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford to buy their products outright.

"We’re confident that Very Exclusive is going to be a massive success.”
