One of the co-founders of online fashion retailer Boohoo has made sure there will be no sobbing in his family after handing them £25 million in shares.

Mahmud Kamani, who is also co-chief executive, has gifted his brother Nurez and a trust for Nurez’s children, 6.8% of the company’s shares.

Nurez is the latest in a string of the Kamani clan to become a shareholder in Boohoo.

Mahmud’s other brother and a sister also have shares.

Other significant shareholders include Odey Asset Management, founded by Crispin Odey.

Mahmud, Nurez and the trustees have agreed not to dispose of any of the ordinary shares they are interested in for 18 months.

Boohoo this week revealed it recovered from a post-Christmas profit warning to record a 35% rise in first half sales to £90.8 million.

It has collaborated with singer-songwriter Charli XcX for a new capsule holiday collection due for release this autumn.
